Hair, Cops, Holidays.

I know I said that I would have new pictures up, but sadly they are going to have to wait a bit. I think I've mentioned it before, but in case I haven't....this is a "temporary" home so we didn't set up any formal service for internet. I have a blackberry that I'm tethering for internet at this point and I'm only limited to a certain amount of usage each month and I'm super close to that limit. So pictures have to wait a few days.
What's been going on? Nothing and everything! Isn't that everyone's life though? We took Sophia to get her first big girl haircut. It doesn't look at all different though-just her bangs are shorter. Everything else was just trimmed and evened up since we'll be growing it out. I cut my hair too. A significant amount. We're talking 6+ inches here. Adios mom ponytail! Oh and Chris cut his hair too! This family cleaned up is what we did!
We still haven't moved (in case you didn't pick that up). I was hoping the house would be finished this weekend, and it may still be done by Sunday which is fine since its a holiday weekend, but I'm thinking it'll be more like next weekend. It needs to be soon though. I didn't tell you yet. I had to call 911! Scariest thing ever happened. I've long said this neighborhood is sucky and its not safe either. Well the other night around midnight I was sitting on my computer minding my own business when an unknown person/people started banging on my windows. I jumped up grabbed my phone set the dogs loose and ran down the hallway to check Sophia. Then I called my Dad, who told me to call 911. Then I called my Mom, to make sure 911 would find me on my cell. Then I called my husband in case he had been expecting someone to come by and had forgot to mention it to me before he left for work. I mean, I'd hate for one of his friends to get in trouble because of me (go ahead, roll your eyes). But then, THEN I called 911. And they sent 3 cops to my house with searchlights. The cop that came in in talked to me I actually went to high school with. Kind of weird. Anyways, he said they had a report of two large men walking along the houses but they hadn't found them yet. He also told me that they are ALWAYS around this neighborhood (I had asked if he would be keeping an eye on my house as I was terrified because it was just me and my daughter home alone). Anyways, we have had no more incidents and now I know 911 can find me on my cell phone. And I do think I know who did it. There were a couple of guys walking down the street yesterday that matched the description the cops gave me and I saw them look over at me and start laughing at me, so I'm pretty sure it was them. I'll be sure to accidentally let my foot slip off the break the next time I see them walking. I'm kidding. Sort of.
Anyways. Aside from that. Nothing. We finally go the down payment for our house. One thing I've learned is its easier to be poor than to have money (not rich mind you). At least when you are poor you HAVE no money and you know that. When you have a significant amount of money it makes life more complicated. There is more budgeting and charts and financials to deal with. It just makes my head hurt. But we were able to buy a new bed finally. We paid for it in full, in cash. Which, honestly, made my heart hurt. I mean, I know it was 1000% better than financing it, but oi. I've got issues just superficially spending $50. This about killed me. But on the bright side, I have a brand new bed to sleep in tonight and I'm kind of excited to go to be. Eventually. Stupid insomnia.
And hello?! Its already July! Where did the time go??? I've got to make my July menus and grocery lists still. Then a relaxing August (since I'm not in retail anymore it'll be very relaxing) and September. Halloween in October, Thanksgiving in November, Christmas in December, New Years and then Sophia's 2nd birthday. Wow. To fast for me.
