1,2,3, 4th

We didn't do anything special really for the 4th of July. Mostly hung around the house watching movies. My plan all day had been to take Sophia to the Stars and Stripes concert and then come home but Chris really wanted to take her to the fireworks. They didn't start until 10 though and there was NO way I was going to let Sophia stay up that late. So we compromised by putting her to bed early and then woke her up around 9 to head down to the river. She was impressed with them I think. A little scared at first but once she realized they wouldn't hurt us she was pointing at them and whenever there was a pause in the show she looked around trying to find them again. Over all they were pretty neat. I was sincerely disappointed with the location this year. I know the construction is why they moved them, but there were a lot of trees and parking was horrid. We, luckily, left a smidgen early and got to the car quickly after the finale and were able to escape fairly easily. However the parking garage was backed up something fierce because the West side decided to not let the garage be free parking. So imagine a full parking garage of people trying to go home after a long wait for a short show and its taking about 2-3 minutes per person to get through the checkout/payment/gates process. Yea. I'm glad we left early.

This was one of the early pictures-you can see the look of concern on Sophia's face.
