The best way to start the morning is listening to classical music. Lucky for us, Sophia agrees. After her breakfast and some playtime she starts fussing for a nap. Sadly, she won't go down without a fight for this first nap UNLESS she has some good classical music going. As we speak she is conked out in her bouncer listening to some music. Chris has a wonderful sound system in the studio that makes it sound like the music is being piped through the whole house and its so peaceful here in the mornings because of it. We always use pandora.com and start out with her favorite- Moonlight Sonata. Then pandora picks songs that are similar to that song and just keeps playing. We love it. Daddy and daughter both fall asleep listening to classical music filling the air and mommy gets some quiet time to wake up all the way. I've got to say I feel quite the sophiscate sitting her listening to classical music and drinking my coffee. Which, by the way, I do still actaully like. My first cup of coffee after Sophia was born was disgusting but it turns out that I now like it a bit more black than I used to (which was loaded with cream and sugar), kinda weird.
Sophia also like to fall asleep at bedtime listening to whale songs. We tried it one night after we discovered by accident that whale songs intrigue her. She slept well enough however I thought the songs made her a bit restless and so last night we didn't listen to the whale songs. Not sure what the winner is, with the whale songs she passed out right away but cooed and talked in her sleep but woke up in a wonderful mood and was in a good mood all day. Without the whale songs she slept like a rock (6 1/2 hours straight last night!!!!!!!!!!!) but was fighting sleep for nearly an hour and woke up in not the best mood she could've been in. Ah well, we'll need to experiment more.
We do enjoy our routines around here for sure and everyone is cranky or "off" when the day isn't going as planned.
