Hello all! So I haven't had much of anything to say really. Pretty much just been spending my days (and nights and afternoons) sleeping and shooting up (insulin that is). Anyways, there at least has been improvement concerning my diabetes and I'm finally starting to get a handle on the diet and such. I had another doctors appointment today and with a different doctor at that. No, I didn't switch doctors again but Dr. Sinnit was called into an emergency surgery so I saw Dr. Tao instead. I've seen her before so it was no biggie in my book. She was little surprised that he was having me go ahead and do a couple of tests already and she mentioned that they typically don't do those until 36 weeks (which is technically still two weeks away for me) and she figures he must be planning to not let me get anywhere near full term and they did an internal exam and said baby is still high and no dilation so that's good. However the Dr. reminded me that could change anytime. They also started my weekly appointments which she also said wasn't typical until 36 weeks....hmmm....OH and I saw my old doctor yesterday and he asked when I was having the baby and I told him that they hadn't changed the date it was still the 20th of February and he gave me the "Yea, Right." look. Me thinks this baby will debut early. I also started my NST (non stress tests) today. I have to do those weekly as well just to monitor the baby and make sure she is ok. Its mainly just a precaution given the diabetes I've got going on. They basically are just checking that when the baby moves her heart rate goes up. Long story short-my baby doesn't like to be listened to! She kept running (swimming, wiggling????) away from the monitor and what should've taken 20 minutes took nearly an hour. Finally a nurse came in a chased her heartbeat all over me but she still had trouble then the doctor had to come in and track it down! The doctor kept popping into the room making comments about how active she was (she was all riled up and kept kicking the monitor and swishing around it and the monitor is on a loud speaker so the nurses can hear it at their station so everyone got to hear her abuse the machine). Finally though they got the readings they needed and we went home. Where I promptly started putting together my bag for the hospital, hahaha!
Oh another note. I hate my job. Not the actual work because that isn't hard (a monkey could do it). But I've been getting a lot of crap concerning time off and such. FYI- my time off has been exclusively for doctors appointments and birthing classes. OH and my baby shower. However I try to schedule all my doctors appointments on the same day (however this is going to get harder because they will have to squeeze me in where ever since I go every week now) so that I can just be unavailable that day and its a non-issue (however, a huge issue it seems to be for my employer). And all the time off that I've requested off for my birthing classes I'm actually unavailable during that time anyways so there shouldn't be an issue (however, once again, there is. In fact one time they scheduled me during my birthing class and when I said it was out of my availability, they wrote me down as a call in. Um, no?). And of course they haven't mentioned it to me. They mention it to my co-worker and the only thing they say to me is what they say off handedly such as "Man, imagine if I had a sales operator ALL the time" five minutes after I mention some issue with my schedule which they have screwed up. Again. For the third time actually. In short- if you ever intend to have a baby and work at the same time, never, and I repeat NEVER, go work where I do. Because they hate pregnant ladies. And they probably will eat your baby as well.
