Not cheap! Creative!
So if you are my friend on Facebook then I'm sure you've heard me complaining about the heat in our current house, if not, well its a house with NO fans, NO, air conditioning, NO trees for shade and NO screens in the windows so that I can open them (2 dogs, and a toddler, yea, can't leave windows wide open). So even when it just a lovely 73 degrees outside, its about 90 degrees in the house-with no air movement. Just plain gross. Well most days, I try and be outside as much as possible, but Sophia has to nap at some point so we have to come inside; usually at the hottest point in the day too. And the fact that she REFUSES to wear a hat and its super duper annoying to try an put sunscreen on a squirming 14 month old every day, twice a day, sometimes we have to figure out other ways to cool off. Well a pool seems logical, put we don't have a pool, and I'm not going to buy one yet because that's one more thing we have to move in a few weeks. A tub would be smart too, but I can't sit on the floor in the bathroom all day because I've got stuff to do. So one hot day when I really needed to dishes and Sophia wouldn't quit trying to crawl up my pant legs I got desperate. The thoughts going through my head were "I need to keep here busy for 20 minutes" "She's hot and cranky-so am I" "How can I cool her down and keep her busy?" "Hhmmm....she likes playing in the dog water bowls- maybe I should just let her? No, no, better yet- A COOKIE SHEET!" And voila-1 cookie sheet, plus some measuring cups, a like bit of baby soap for bubbles and you've got a happy and cooled down baby and a happy (still sweating) momma.
