GO ME!

Today I finally took advantage of my major perk from working at the gym-I used my free membership and took a class! I took the RPM (cycling) class and let me tell you- half way through I was certain I had bit off more than I could chew. My muscles were burning, but in the good way and I was this close to quitting because I couldn't take it. BUT, I stuck it our for the entire 45 minutes and I'm so proud. One thing I learned at my last go round at a work out routine is that you can't dive in and pick up where you left off 15 years ago. That is setting yourself up for failure! So, maybe I couldn't do every part full out, the point is I still tried! If I needed a minute longer, I took it and tried again. But I never stopped pedaling and that is an accomplishment in my eyes! But, I'm not sure this class is for me because my booty is aching like I was paddled! I'm giving it two more tries though and if I'm still uncomfortable I'll take another class and try again. My goal, like everyone's pretty much, is to lose weight and GET HEALTHY! I want to be able to go play with Sophia and not worry about weight limits and catching my breath. I want to push diabetes to the back burner for awhile longer! I want to go buy clothes off the clearance rack at Target! Ha! Hopefully, my motivation sticks. I decided a week ago that I need a hobby. My preferred hobby involves me marching around in head to toe wool (with TWO jackets, both wool!) in the summer heat. This is so not fun for a girl my size and it doesn't matter how big the crowd is! So my hobby is to get healthy and lose some weight. Sophia, has no opinion in the say but I'm hoping Chris will get on board. He always supports whatever I do, but I think he'll draw the line at eating vegetables. I'm also, going to see if maybe I can swing the fee to join my clubs Weight Loss Challenge. Hopefully I can because I think that sounds like an awesome way to jump start me. Has anyone out there every done this type of thing? Thoughts? Also, anyone know of any way to make broccoli taste like pizza and carrots taste like french fries? I think that is the only way I'll get Chris to eat the yummy foods...

NO, carrots and broccoli will never taste like pizza or french fries, but if you stay away from it long enough the grease will almost but make you throw up!

Try mixing veggies in with mixed dishes. We do spinach, and lots of other veggies in lasagna & stir fry. You could put broccoli and other veggies on pizzas and cut potatos and bake them into french fries-then you arent getting all the fat from the oil of FF. Since 1 tbsp of oil is 120 calories-you will be saving a lot to cut out fried foods! Also, using light ranch or some other light dressings makes veggies more appetizing (thats the only way my husband eats them).

I havent done the weight loss challenges anywhere, but my patients do all the time & its perfect for motivation and accountability. I say you do it!

If you have any diet/meal planning questions-I'd be happy to help you, that is what I do all week long!

Thanks for your advice! I've been doing the "sneaky chef" thing with Chris so far. As of yet he hasn't noticed that there might just be broccoli tucked in his dinner!
I missed the deadline to join the challenge this time but I'm hoping they have another one later this year!
