2 months

Sophia is 2 months old today! Or, on Friday. This whole birthday thing confuses me as Friday was the day she was born and so this past Friday she was 8 weeks old and *technically* 2 months, her actual DATE of birth is the 13th and so today makes her 2 months old based on that. I'm sure there is a logical, even obvious reason for that, but its far to early for me to get my head wrapped around that nonsense. Anyways, back to the post. Sophia is developing quite the personality, although she really only turns it on for Momma and Dad still, it is very funny if you get to see her at her best. She prefers shrieks and squeals to tiny baby laughs and she'll "talk" up a storm if you listen to her and respond to her. She still stretches like you wouldn't believe, we're talking arms straight above her head and legs out as far as they can go, pointed toes and all! She has also started to scoot a little bit and its quite funny to watch her push herself along on her tummy. Hmmm, what else? Oh, she is holding her head up so good now. She doesn't have great control yet but she can hold that head up forever if its worth it to her! At the rate she's moving she'll be crawling in no time. Also, our dogs have figured out that she is actually a real person, albeit a small one. Vendetta and Sophia have made fast friends, and Sophia's eyes get really big everytime she catches a glimpse of Vendetta and Vendetta likes to sniff her and take her naps next to her. Sonata is the protecter. Every now and then she'll sniff Sophia but mostly she just watches her and does drive by licks. The drive by licks are what she does to me a Chris too and I think its her way of just checking that everyone is ok. As for the picture above, 2 months old means 2 month shots which is what we're showing off in that picture. This was the calm before the storm. A few hours after this she was crying pretty much nonstop for two hours and wouldn't nurse or take a paci. She just howled and howled and wouldn't open her eyes for anything. It was actually a bit scary because we just couldn't calm her down. Lucky for all of us though, Grandma came and saved the day. It still took Super Grandma awhile to calm Sophia down but she did it. We're all better now though so thats good.
