Oh bits and pieces...

One thing that no one tells you when you are about to have a baby is that you will NEVER be fully rested it seems. Maybe that is just me though. As some of you know, Christopher works 3rd shift so that means I've been on baby night time duty nearly every day since Sophia was about 3 weeks old. And except for a handful of times, Sophia doesn't sleep through the night. She is getting better so there is hope, but MAN, am I tired. I'm so tired I can't sleep and I'm up until all hours of the night doing, well, nothing really. Tips? I'd like to get out of this habit of sleeping 3-4 hours a night and then after a week or two of this I just die to the world for 12 hours abandoning husband and child to fend for themselves, and I'm sure they would appreciate it too.
In other news: I'm starting to not really like weekends. Yes, I said it. Being a mostly stay at home mom we've developed our own sort of routine for the "work week" and weekends, while fun and exciting, through everything for a loop. I always am looking forward to the beginning of our week on Monday. I never thought I'd be that person but I really like my schedule. Being the mom of a toddler means I'll take my peace and order where I can get that and right now that is in the form of reliable nap times!
The head line for the week is that Sophia took 3 steps! I think she is going to be a perfectionist and not do anything until she has mastered it in private and decided she can do it 100% of the way. Nursing: quit on her own in about a week. Eating baby food: Quit on her own overnight. Drinking from a bottle: Quit on her own in one day. Switching from formula to whole milk: Quit on her own at the same exact time as her bottle, natch. The walking 3 steps occurred when she didn't think I was watching. I was looking at a book and out of the corner of my eye I see her let go and then teeter totter 3 wobbly steps. Of course I stopped and cheered and she promptly fell flat on her butt and started crying. Oh well. I'm sure one day soon she'll let go and just start walking like she's been doing it her whole life. My boogey.

This is a photo of Sophia's notorious kickstand. The girl is crazy.
