Learning Life Lessons

Boy! Its been a long time since an update from me! I'm learning VERY quickly that 9 month olds are busy little bodies and get into everything! By the end of the day I'm pooped and can't find the energy to do much else except crash out on the couch watching bad, late night t.v. So, for an update...where to start???
Sophia mastered crawling and is becoming much, much faster. And much more ornery! Her favorite little game is when you tell her "NO!" (like, No, don't touch the t.v.!) She'll stick her little pointer finger in the air and look back and forth at you and the t.v. Then she'll poke the t.v. and smile at you and when you go to catch her and move her she drops to all fours and scampers away! Its so hard not to laugh cause its so stinkin' cute, but boy it get tiring playing THAT game! She is just really starting to show her stinker attitude more. The other day we were shopping at Kohls, and we had to leave because as I'm pushing the stroller around she is pulling STACKS of folded clothes on the floor and in the stroller and laughing about it. I was running all over trying to pick stuff up. Though, I do have to say, that Kohls aisle's in the baby department hardly fit a stroller and sometimes I think the deserve this stuff to happen, BUT I've worked in clothing retail before and I know its not the sales people's fault the department looks like that. Call me though when the managers are having to pick that department up. I'll bring Sophia and we'll make a mess to teach them a lesson!
What else....Sophia is learning so much everyday that its hard for me to keep track of whats new to others and what I've told before. Well she is getting much better at cruising along the couch. Another trick that is tiring me out, especially since I know walking isn't that far behind! She can stand alone for just a few seconds but the other day she let go of the couch with both hands and squatted to the floor on her own! Another favorite game is to let go of whatever she is holding on to and giving me a heart attack because she's about to fall! She loves dancing now too, especially to the Hot Dog song (you tube it- suffer with me!). Lets see...we've officially weaned 100%. It was the smoothest transition I could have hoped for. We've tried some cow milk at snack time but she isn't a fan just yet. Hopefully soon though! I'm preparing for her 1st birthday- stay tuned for details on that party! Well that's about all I can think of right now. She is suffering through her first cold right now. She was running a temperature last night of 102.5 and after a teary and panicked phone call to my parents we got her tylenol'd up and cold wash clothed and it started to come down. She was under the weather and still running a low temp through the day today but was back to normal at bedtime. Hopefully it holds out. Yesterday when I put her to bed she was fine too but woke up at midnight with that fever. I have to say she has handled it very well. Not fussy or anything, just, as my mom put it, "meh." I'm proud that we made it 10 months without really any illness. I know some babies are sick all the time and others are born sick and never get healthy but we've been lucky so far *knock on wood* The picture I've included today is of Sophia letting everyone know just how much she doesn't want to eat her vegetables right now!
