So, guess what?
Are you melting with the anticipation of my annoucment?
Well?
I'm PREGNANT!!!
AND I'M JOKING!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! There's something to wake you up this morning (afternoon, whatever)! Ok, so NO, I'm not pregnant BUT I did get a JoB! I start next week at the nursery in Newtone (a gym around here if you aren't familiar). I'm so excited. Its going to be just a few hours a week, in about 2-3 hour shifts. So its the perfect amount of time for me to pop out, work a bit, then come home and carry on with my normal routine. Basically, its perfect. Its a lot different from my past jobs. Its not retail and apparently these people haven't shut their nice switch or communication switch off so that is a MAJOR (and welcome) change! I kind of fell across the job on accident to be honest. I've been contemplating a "career change" of sorts as retail just isn't for me. I've been torn between nursing and childcare, but that's another store for another day. ANYWAYS- so I'm just browsing the job ads on Craigslist thinking that there is no way I'd find a legitimate job on there and I came across a brief post about a nursery position. SO I sent an email on a whim not expecting anything except maybe a scam or an offer to join some gang ring of international baby sellers BUT I got a friendly email back asking me to come in for an interview. Despite the fact that it came from a "newtone.com" address, I still had my doubts that I was being set up. But I went, met my lovely, soon-to-be, new boss and later that evening after my interview I had an email offering me the position. Woot! Yea for me! Being a stay at home mom is fun and all, but its the hardest job I've EVER had and after 6 months of being home (in two 3 month bunches), I'm ready to go back to work a little bit. The plan was for me to go back full time when Sophia was older, but between babysitting and the nursery I don't anticipate going back full time-anywhere-for a long time. Shayna- the girl I watch- is 4 months old now which means soon she'll be up and around and Sophia will have a playmate! So, anyways, I'm pumped. I love kids and think I'm going to have a lot of fun. The other nice thing, is that we know that we could survive on the money we make now so this job will just help out a bit for things we can't buy right now (like ice cream and Starbucks...kidding!) so there isn't this massive weight on my shoulders to get the job, keep the job, be awesome at the job and get promoted ASAP (which has always been my plan previously). I get to go to work, enjoy myself, make some extra cash (for my Starbucks...) and if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work. Its a welcome change. Anyways, enough rambling. I got a job!
